As I love our #tern fledglings so much, here’s more fledgling content:
This one was fed a massive gadoid (~ 2/3 the size of the bird) by its parent. You can see the bulge the fish is making on its way down into the chick’s tummy!

Richard Benyon Defra UK APHA Richard, so far my team have recovered over 2k dead seabirds at Coquet Island including 79 adult Roseate terns out of a U.K. population of 160 pairs. We are worried & so far haven’t seen a sniff of leadership or presence from Government. Want to come see what we are dealing with?

#Bass 'Look into the eye' Black eye occasionally opaque/or a flecked iris appear to be early sign of AI. Mingling among healthy birds. Sadly we saw the first chick fitting,the eye cloudy. Is it a haemorrhage?Thoughts and debate . It's neurogical. Necropsy may bring understanding
