The Eastern Cape Provincial Team continues its multi-partner and collaborative response following the devastating floods.

The provincial manager, Caroline Gallant, met with Old Mutual SA sales representatives today in Buffalo City Metro for Disaster relief handover.

The DREF project that was aimed at alleviating several human suffering that came as a result of the storms, has come to an end. For a closure, a 3-days lessons learned workshop is held in Quthing from the 11th to 13th June 2024.

Severe floods in Eastern Cape, South Africa 🇿🇦 have left many in dire conditions, over 1500 people have been displaced.

@RedcrossSA teams and volunteers in the Eastern Cape branch are tirelessly working on the ground to assist affected communities, providing much-needed support.

We are grateful for the support of the Zambian government led by Hon. Dr. Namani Monze, who joined the symposium participants in calling for a DNA database that can help in humanitarian forensic investigations to aid in resolving missing persons and unidentified human remains.

In the spirit of keeping humanity alive, our team together with IFRC Africa and The South African Red Cross Society (SARCS) teamed up for the 2024 Red Cross &Red Crescent Day Celebrations in Musina. The 2-day programme started with the planning of trees at Beitbridge Primary School. #Keepinghumanityalive !

Then, IFRC Africa and ICRC Southern Africa, along with the Host National Society at Musina Branch, had prior engagements with the educators at Beitbridge Primary School before the Tree Planting Initiative.

Malawi Red Cross Society Cycling for Humanity Fundraising Cyclists arrived in Blantyre at the Civic Centre at exactly 14:20 Hour's. They were accorded the Hero's welcome led by the Mayor of the city of Blantyre Councillor Wild Ndipo who urged Blantyre residents to support Malawi Red Cross Society

The @icrc_acms with DNAforAfrica UNODC Southern Africa DFMT_UCT & INTERPOL are in #Zambia to attend the #4thDNASymposium .The gathering brings together forensic practitioners who share info about forensic technologies &tools that aid States in resolving cases of missing persons

Today, GoZ commissioned Gudomutovhoti Piped Water Scheme in Mwenezi District.
The scheme is part of interventions by Zimbabwe Red Cross with support of IFRC under the Zero Hunger project in the food insecure area.
It will improve access to clean water, enhance hygiene and nutrition.
