Tracing the history of how the Federal Reserve bailed out the Goldman Sachs & JP Morgan through AIG, Damon Silvers shows how the financial crisis set the precedent of public money rescuing private failure. This has laid the foundations of the long-term damage to global democracy.
Speaking as the Deputy Chair of the US Congressional Oversight Panel for Troubled Asset Relief Program, Damon Silvers emphasises that the legacy of the crisis is that it effects the environment in which the policy is made to tackle today’s most significant global problems.
