Refaat Alareer wrote a poem called “If I Die,” asking people to fly a kite in his name if he’s killed to give hope to orphaned children.

He wrote it for his daughter, Shaima.

Israel killed him. Months later Shaima had a baby.

Israel killed Shaima.

And her husband and baby.

They literally did this because Refaat is an icon in the protest movements. The highest officials smirked and laughed and said, we'll show them more 'If I Die' and then eliminated his entire family.

They've been doing this every Friday for 28 weeks in a row, and I'm still left speechless each time.
