It was an absolute honor to host 50 4th graders from Crescent View Academy in HD41 at the Capitol!We started the day off with my opening prayer uplifting the children & enjoyed time touring the building.I also presented CVA with a tribute honoring their work in the community & beyond!

My 'Firearm Liability Insurance Requirement' bill alongside Representative Woodrow passed in committee last week! HB24-1270 will enforce that firearm owners posses firearm liability insurance. This bill is aimed at promoting responsible firearm ownership in Colorado.

This week, the House of Representatives worked to pass the Long Bill, which includes the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
This year’s budget prioritizes families & youth by making critical investments in Universal Pre-K, low-income childcare support, and more!

Muslim Youth for Positive Impact Day at the Capitol was a success! I hosted 20 MYPI participants on the House floor during floor proceedings! I gave the opening prayer, uplifting MYPI's mission, & after a tour I presented MYPI with an official Resolution attesting to MYPI's work.

April is Arab American Heritage Month, a celebration of the 3.7 million Arabs & the contributions to our nation since 1527. As a Palestinian American, I am proud of our legacy, from fighting for our independence to today's community & gov’t leaders, innovators in medicine & tech.

Moms Against Drunk Driving were at the Capitol today. Their stories of loss due to careless, irresponsible drunk drivers moved me to tears. It was an honor to meet Barbara Brodt, the founder of MADD & constituent of HD41, and Polli Small.
