Affirmative action has been banned. Black history is being banned. DEI offices are being shuttered across the country. Multicultural centers shuttered. There are no protests against most of this. It’s a fantasy that somehow anti-Blackness is intolerable. Stop.

Incredibly proud of Columbia University student leaders who wrote the single best analysis of recent events available anywhere. Shame on The New York Times The Wall Street Journal and other media for failing to accurately report their views. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Multiple things are true at once:
-Hamas is a terrorist org
-Netanyahu is guilty of war crimes
-Neither are interested in peace or helping their people
-Student protests have been infiltrated by outside agitators
-Police responses have needlessly escalated a tense situation. 1/

Columbia Radio WKCR provided a thorough blow by blow account of the raid. They were fiercely courageous, unabashedly honest, &, without undermining their rigor or acumen, earnest & sweet. They deserve this & many more

Woah. Trump tells TIME he would “let red states monitor women’s pregnancies and prosecute those who violate abortion bans.”

I’ve written a few pieces on Project 2025 now, but this interview goes way more in depth than previous reporting on Trump’s plans. He says he:

- would let red states monitor and prosecute women who get abortions

- won’t commit to defending NATO nations

- would fire…

To protest their government's genocide, Cal Poly students barricade a building, as they learned to stop mass shooters. In Texas, their counterparts are attacked by the very cops who sat idle while 17 kids were slaughtered at Uvalde.

TikTok didn't radicalize them. America did.

Now more than ever, we see why the humanities matter. You aren’t going to get the critical analysis of institutions when everything is STEM.

When UC campuses were becoming hubs of activism in the 60s, then Governor Ronald Reagan’s aid advised him to “Make them pay. Put them in debt. They’ll quiet down.” He obliged. Tuition hikes and the student debt crisis were spurred intentionally as tools of political repression.

This is not the first hostile interaction I’ve had since the new heightened aggressive, suspicious security policy. Imagine how they are treating our Black male students. Hey Pres. Shafik & politicians how about also being concerned about anti-Black hostility & discrimination?

Just had explosive interaction w/ Columbia University’s heightened security coming onto campus. They followed me to my office & then lied, saying I didn’t scan my ID for entry (I did) & I pushed an officer (I didn’t). An ugly scene followed. They did this to me, a tenured, full professor.

Today the Supreme Court is debating whether it’s legal — or not — to assure doctors can save a pregnant person’s LIFE in a hospital emergency room.

Let that sink in.

First thing many of us in TX think about when we see a lot of state troopers these days are the nearly 100 of them that stood by and let children die at an elem school because they were too scared to do anything about a single shooter. It's fucking cosplay. Shame on UT Austin

I've seen no credible reporting of actual antisemitic incidents at the UT Austin protest. What I can tell you is that I've reported on numerous neo-Nazi events and Greg Abbott never once tried to put any of them in jail.
