Today, 🇮🇪 was pleased to attend the launch of the Peace Exhibition by SierraLeone@UN at UN HQ. A thoughtfully curated exhibit that showcases 🇸🇱’s successful journey towards peace through UN-led peacekeeping & peacebuilding efforts.

It is three years since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, and three years of gross human rights abuses. Women and children are especially suffering. Ireland will continue to work with partners on the ground to provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance.

Today, 🇮🇪 marks the International Day of Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief. Ireland condemns all forms of discrimination based on religion or belief. We must work towards a world where everyone can practice their religion without fear.

Today marks the 33rd Anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine 🇺🇦. Ireland 🇮🇪 extends its best wishes to all Ukrainians on this important day. We will continue to stand with you in your pursuit of peace, and a prosperous future in the European Union.

Ireland welcomes #UNSC’s unanimous adoption of the 12-month renewal of UNIFIL’s mandate. This resolution sustains UNIFIL’s vital contribution to regional stability. 🇮🇪 is a long standing troop-contributor to UNIFIL.

Deeply saddened by the killing of six Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas. We call again for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, and a ceasefire. Even in this dark moment, I urge all involved to redouble their efforts to reach such a deal.
