Opened as Madison Stadium in 1975 with 5,200 seats. Capacity more than doubled in 1981 & it was renamed JMU Stadium (Bridgeforth in 1990)

In 2011 a $62 million renovation expanded to 24,877. JMU’s record crowd of 26,239 came in 2023 vs ODU
