no one colonizes innocently…no one colonizes with impunity either…a civilization which justifies colonization—& therefore force–is already a sick civilization

A class analysis that denies race is always lacking, but a supposed analysis that sees race issues as concerning a lack of representation or diversity at the top, rather than being always already also about class - hello, racial capitalism- is not the answer.

ICWA is one safeguard we have to keep our kids in our communities, immersed in our traditions. The SCOTUS case perpetuates colonial harms and lays infrastructure to the continued dispossessions of Indigenous bodies, identities, cultures, languages, etc.

When marginalized and oppressed people within and outside US borders talk about the violence of forgetting, this is what we are talking about. This persistent myth of America the good. America which took the name of an entire hemisphere for itself.

Academia is fraught w Indigenous identity fraud & we must demand accountability! Actual jobs & resources are being usurped by WHITE FOLKS. Lies give them access to knowledge & culture to which they have no right. The material & cultural damage is real. More later. I’m pissed.

Genuinely take this picture of Stuart Hall working the crèche at the first National Women's Liberation Conference in 1970 as one of the most revolutionary photos I know of.

[I]t is only by fighting racism that we can root out fascism. To fight fascism, and only incidentally racism, is merely to suppress the fascists and allow them to resurface again.

If you're not anti-capitalist, anti-racist, anticolonial, and anti-patriarchal, simply saying you're decolonizing something won't make a difference for those on the receiving end of these deeply entangled systems of domination and exploitation.

I just read 'The Jargon of Decoloniality' by Neil Larsen. He critiques Mignolo as a means to invalidate everything about decolonial theory. For him, decolonial thought, 'despite its more sinister & openly reactionary dimension...readily invites parody and laughter.'

[Colonial] hegemony is necessarily an educational relationship & occurs not only within a nation, between the various forces of which the nation is composed, but in the international & world-wide field, between complexes of national & continental civilisations.

Hundreds are dead and over a million have been displaced by massive flooding in Nigeria. It’s yet another monumental climate disaster hitting people of the global majority that’s getting so little attention.

Fanon renounced his French citizenship to labour for the colonially subjugated, Ambedkar repudiated Hinduism; embraced Buddhism.
Both 'walked away' to lead by example, evincing what 'decolonisation' entails: extricating oneself from the totality of oppression.

Our colossal task.

All the scholars who blocked, gave poor reviews or deplatformed decolonial, race & Indigenous scholarship are now race, Indigenous or decolonial scholars. They are giving lectures, applying for grants, posts & resources that they have gatekept out of the academy.

For those from the global south or countries that face extreme natural disasters, does tourism help your country recover? For me personally, speaking from my lived experiences & communities, tourism doesn't help, it actually harms us more especially after a natural disaster.

Eurocentric academic philosophers in the Global North can continue being 'unimpressed' with everything written from Latin America & the Caribbean that refers to (de)coloniality. The Souths of the Global South will continue advancing thought & praxis in spite of them.
