As of this morning, the Winnipeg airport has set a new record for wettest year ever, surpassing 723.3 mm in 1962. The annual total will increase before the year ends. Records began in 1873.

We are deeply saddened to learn that Jim Blanchard passed away last week. The author of six books of MB history, four of them with UMP, Jim was known for his entertaining historic portraits and keen sense of humour.
