Ear Moth was nfy this morning plus a nice fresh Cabbage Moth and Lesser Broad- bordered Yellow Underwing :)

Was shown a Dewick's Plusia on Thursday- a worcs rarity, plus also Ypsolopha vitella, another scarce species :)

Good views of the Caspian Tern at Slimbridge yesterday- a uk tick for me! Also 2 Spoonbill and 2 Spotted Redshank were other notables. Unfortunately no sign of the Turtle Dove at Epney- typically its there for 11 days then fucks off the day i go!!

A pristine Small Ranunculus by the trap this morning was a highlight, also Cydia pomonella, Drinker and Chinese Character. Tons of smaller stuff too but mostly caddises and Grass Veneers. Bring on tonights carnage!! :)

Did a moth night at Monkwood last night - a good haul was had including a few of the speciality Lead- Coloured Pug. Only got a pic of Slender Brindle plus a Fern caught elsewhere and brought along.
Had a Barn Owl calling there plus another over the road on the way home at 2am..

Had a surprise on way back from the Wyre Forest yesterday-driving around the Gilgal in Stourport had a Swallowtail (butterfly) fly across the road and into a garden!! Release, escape or what?!

In the afternoon went to the Wyre again- at least 5 more Dark Green Frits in the Cooper's Mill meadows, lots of Silver-Washed Frits all over, Brown Hawker in Knowles Meadow and the first Gatekeepers of the year :)

In my trap this morning was a lovely Southern Wainscot plus Ancylis achatana. Weirdly there was a Small Ranunculus in the VES Yellow -legged Clearwing lure- didnt know it could attract this species!

Was shown my first Golden Plusia on monday night, also saw Tansy Plume, Cydia nigricana and Tinea trinotella :)

A trip to Tiddesley Wood on sunday pm got me 3 Purple Emperors- flying around the tops of trees so too high for pics, also 1 Silver -Washed Fritillary and 1 White-Letter Hairstreak flitting around an Elm :) Purple Hairstreaks about too plus several Red and White Admirals :)
