An NWS storm survey confirmed that a weak, intermittent EF-0 tornado with a maximum estimated wind speed of 70 mph occurred in Holmes County, Ohio, outside of Nashville, on August 12, 2023.

Big time winds passing just E of Kellys Island and just NE of Cedar Point. Velocity showing winds nearing 100mph, but likely a bit less at ground level.

Severe storm warning until 8:45 tonight for Cuyahoga. Expect wind gusts to 60mph, and penny-sized hail. Moving NE @ 20mph.

A nearly 100 mile wide severe thunderstorm warning capable of 70mph wind gusts. Sliding south at 40mph Stay safe.

It’s looking like strong / severe storm activity will ramp up once we hit 7pm, and then slide south. Damaging winds the greatest threat. Should clear out by 10pm. Stay safe!

A rather rare ENHANCED risk (3 out of 5) for severe weather today for all of northern Ohio. Looks like the worst stuff - damaging winds / hail - moves in after 6pm. We’ll be all over it. Stay safe.
