Kansas City, in every iteration, is the Reign's bogey team.

FC Kansas City won NWSL titles in 2014 and 2015, defeating the Reign in both finals.

Kansas City Current defeat Reign to make 2022 final vs. Portland.

Those are the Reign's three Shield-winning years.
