As someone who has tried to help get scholarships for loved ones in Gaza, and generally wants Palestinians from Gaza to have access to opportunities at US universities, I have some thoughts and questions for organizers to consider as they shape their political demands. A thread:

Palestinian agreed to a ceasefire that would lead to the release of Israeli captives and end the war. Israel responded by launching what looks like an operation in Rafah. But we are told that Israel is fighting to get its captives out of Gaza (sure!).

Again, Israel's objective in this campaign is to destroy Gaza. For Netanyahu, it's about dragging out the war to evade accountability for his failures. Israel won't accomplish in Rafah what it hasn't managed elsewhere, but it will leave behind a trail of death and destruction.

I talked with Michael Holmes on CNN International yesterday about the destruction of Gaza's cultural and heritage sites caused by Israel's bombs.
