Something that has really warmed my heart is seeing Northwestern University scientists who work on the Chicago campus and don't even teach undergrads traveling 10 miles up to Evanston campus to put their bodies on the line to protect our undergrads

didn’t know unlearning ppl pleasing would include no longer rationalizing why I don’t like someone. I can just not like them and trust my gut.

American academia is a house of cards collapsing before our eyes. The illusion is gone, and good riddance. The debt burdening of students, police departments, corporate boards, and obscene salaries of presidents all have to go.

Words without actions are manipulation. When people talk about accountability but don't hold themselves accountable, they are just manipulating opinions about them and masking their intentions.

Please stop privileging words over actions.

Another queer, nonbinary academic, asked me how I was celebrating my article submissions last week. I had to admit that I hadn't celebrated at all and immediately started more work.

I'm working on slowing down and allowing myself to feel pride. It's unnatural. But, I'm trying.
