Seems to me that if you upped corporate taxes and gave people the resources they need, this might not be such a big issue.

Every writer I know is struggling to make rent. Industry is on ice after the strikes. And these people are paying themselves exorbitant amounts of money while it happens

I felt so much despair about our academic institutions this week - from NYC to Jerusalem. But I also felt so connected with my discipline (maybe for the first time?), seeing so many sociologists coming out in solidarity with Palestine Sociologists for Palestine Sociologists in Solidarity with Palestinians 🫶🏻 🇵🇸

As a Barnard College graduate I am shocked & ashamed that it & Columbia University are violently crushing the right of students to peacefully protest.

This is not who we are. Both schools must immediately reinstate these students & protect their right to fight for a free Palestine.
