Interesting analysis by Prof Jo Phoenix on links between 'marketisation' and academic freedom.
I don't agree with everything in her post but I do think there is something strange going on (in comparison to the US, say).

Genuine question: why is transphobia listed in .Russell Group statement at all?
My thinking: anti-Semitism and Islamophobia are forms of racism too albeit in close connection to ethnicity and belief.
The inclusion of gender critical then transphobia is actually the inverse of

Rosie Duffield Rosie Duffield MP deserves so much better than this. Her treatment by senior Labour figures (for years now) has been lamentable.
.Russell Group It would be helpful if you gave examples of what you consider 'transphobic' as opposed to 'gender critical', given that your 'genuine mistake' suggests you consider the two to be so similar as to be interchangeable.
One more thought. It isn't hard.
We don't need to know *which* speech is unlawful. Russell Group should focus on what makes it unlawful coz..
