Students have a right to protest peacefully at college campuses. But they do not have the right to disrupt or take away the rights of others. This is something universities need to be very firm about so that they are providing a safe place for learning.

Jerry Wray was a terrific public servant. Smart, creative, kind, he was a real leader. I was proud to serve with him and know him as a friend. He will be missed.

I'm very pleased that the foreign aid package passed. This is the kind of thing the United States, as the preeminent world leader, must do to ensure stability and survival of western values.

People ask me all the time what we can do to stop all the name calling and polarization in America. The answer is actually pretty simple.

Republicans are likely to lose the majority in the U.S. House this year and it's largely due to the continued chaos and their inability to govern.

Our election workers are patriots and deserve our appreciation. It's important that we protect these people from threats and harassment. Our democracy depends on it.

The issue of abortion will certainly play a role in driving voter turnout in certain states this fall, but I believe the economy will rise to the top – as it always does – and be the most important issue for most Americans.

As we move closer to this November's election, I want to remind voters of the important work being done by Election Day workers at their local polls. These folks are our neighbors, and they are hardworking, honest and fair.

Pres. Biden believes he isn’t getting the credit he deserves for the economy, but the American people aren't feeling like they are better off. This disconnect is a serious issue that he'll need to figure out how to address as the economy will be the top issue in the Nov election.

The Nov. presidential election will likely be decided by a few states like Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona. I recently discussed what impact third party candidates may have on the electoral math for Biden/Trump. What do you think?

Heading down to the Statehouse to pay respects to a former colleague and mentor, Sen. Ted Gray. During my early days as a young senator, I remember pontificating at a caucus meeting and feeling like I did well, only to be taught a valuable life lesson when Ted so humorously

In 2016 when I decided not to endorse Donald Trump, I knew I'd pay a political price with the GOP, but it was the right thing to do for America. Sometimes in life you have to make the hard choices and stand on principle.

Pres. Biden missed an opportunity in his speech to acknowledge he understands the feelings people have about this economy.

But if his goal was to prove that he has the energy and a vision for a second term, he certainly accomplished that. Can he keep that up in 2024?

It's not a message that Democrat pundits like to hear, but surrogates aren't going to be enough to convince the American people that Joe Biden has the stamina to serve four more years.

He is going to have to be out there himself being seen for people to believe it.

Pres. Biden and the Democrats made a big mistake by ignoring America's southern border, but I believe come November, like always, it will be the state of the economy that decides the presidential election.
