Terribly sorry to hear this news. John was a wonderful, wise man. I remember our joyful encounter in India and the surprise of his connection to Blairgowrie. The towering support of Kiran and John University of Glasgow was a mark of this lovely couple. My sympathy to Kiran and her family.

Thanks to NHS trade unions & employers for constructive dialogue which lasted late into night yday. Scot Govt has tabled a record pay offer. A flat rate increase of £2205, taking total uplift to 7%. Over 11% uplift for lowest paid, qualified nursing staff receiving up to 8.45%

This is a very serious situation for Shetland. Scottish Government⁩ resilience committee has met and is working closely with partner agencies to ensure support for those who need it, and that the cable damage can be repaired and services restored asap bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla…

The Conservative Party is a disgrace. Their folly of embracing Brexit, the real financial damage done to people by the mini budget and their playing of games amongst the entitled is their shame. We need an election now and Scotland needs to be independent of this farce.

There are no words to describe this utter shambles adequately. It’s beyond hyperbole - & parody.
Reality tho is that ordinary people are paying the price.
The interests of the Tory party should concern no-one right now.
A General Election is now a democratic imperative.

The demolition of the Conservative Party in the words of one of their long serving MPs. They are unfit for office. There needs to be an election.
