Accepting the decision wouldn’t mean it was the right decision or not flawed. Either will the ‘rule of law’ rhetoric or Western adversarial resolution do any justice. It’s where the “Pacific Way” forms of resolution comes which has shown to work in great constitutional conflict.

Kiribati Chief Justice should accept the decision. This issue has persisted for many years, undermining the judiciary’s integrity. Unlike PNG’s CJ sedition experience or Nauru, having a spouse as the Opposition Leader places the CJ in an untenable position in Pacific context.
