In #Africa , millets - known to our ancestors for their superior nutritional value compared to crops such as corn introduced by Portuguese traders in the late 15th century - have been largely overlooked in favour of less climate-friendly & less nutritious crops.

Perceptions have to change 😩

Perhaps honest conversations about capacities (for budgets, valuation & delivery of work) should be had.

Perhaps too, stronger education on the industry & it’s huge ROI prospects worldwide.

Otherwise, the faith is as long as the road!😂

Perception around & actual payment though? Tears 😭

But we keep the faith! Lol.

Finally making palpable progress, which is encouraging.
My 2c is that a lot of education still needs to be done to explain this 'value' and the ROI CCI generates.
In tandem, work needs to be done to generate and gather data to support CCI as an economic driver for the country.

My initial observation (perhaps limited) is that there seems to be a shift in how the older generation are viewing the creative industry in #Rwanda as a career choice. That's huge.

Next step should be to reward creative work per market value, not 'exposure' as a form of payment!

Podcast equipment needs to be more expensive.
