Don't let people undersell CHALLENGERS topping the box office with $15M. An original adult sports romantic drama topped the goddamn box office. That's pretty damned remarkable for this day and age. I would love to see adult dramas make a comeback. They are sorely missed.

Been thinking a lot about how effectively Challengers captures the aging of the main trio over the course of 13 years through a combination of costuming, hairstyling and trusting the performances of the actors. None of this digital de-aging nonsense. It all feels so natural.

I SAW THE TV GLOW: Harrowing. Schoenbrun’s ambitious sophomore feature uses their newfound financial resources to deliver a hugely-scoped, intimately depicted cautionary tale of denying yourself self-acceptance depicted as a dark, suburban anti-fairy tale. A huge, great swing.

I know it's Luca week, but I hope people will also discover Rylance (of course if they haven't already) in Spielberg's BRIDGE OF SPIES. Because he's absolutely brilliant in it.

CHALLENGERS is fantastic. See it in the theater! Zendaya is an absolute star. Such energetic storytelling.

The type of film that will catch on even more after this weekend & have legs through word of mouth. I really hope MGM/Amazon let's it breathe theatrically before VOD.

I'm typically a big proponent of white space but page 1 of Justin Kuritzkes' incredible CHALLENGERS script proves yet again that you can literally do whatever you want if the writing is compelling.
