Well, that day escalated quickly. Will have to look back at why winds in the St Louis metro and areas east stayed backed and thus enhanced our low-level shear parameters. But that is absolutely why storms started spinning when they got into the metro. #stlwx

Confidence is quite high in severe storms moving through the St. Louis metro right around the late afternoon rush hour tomorrow (2-5pm). Damaging winds to 70mph and a few short lived tornadoes are all possible. Stay alert tomorrow #StL ! #stlwx

Severe thunderstorms are expected on THU with the highest threat during the afternoon & evening across E-central, SE MO & SW IL. The main hazard will be damaging winds but large hail & a few tornadoes could accompany the strongest thunderstorms.
