BBC Question Time I think the purpose of a govt saying 'sick note culture' is to get people to turn against each other. It's not just the govt blaming victims. They want people to come here (for example) and dish out blame to people who are not responsible for what's going wrong.

“The language that we use… even in the question ‘Do we have a sick note culture?’ It’s cruel”

Chair of the NHS Confederation Victor Adebowale says the use of “performative” language needs to stop, and the government should show more 'compassion'

Interesting new study on risk in NW England showing higher rates in Pakistani cf. White groups, but strong protective ethnic density effects.

Rates also atypically high, unusually - higher than South London!

The person who tutored me when I did my first psychiatry attachment at medical school.

Congratulations, Mina Fazel! And please ensure that any academic reports from, say, 20 years ago are safely disposed of when you move office.
