First few weeks of intern year have gone quick. Great learning all around and amazing attendings and seniors to help. Feeling grateful to be where I am. 🫶🏼

My “weakness” is my strength.

Anant Naik, MD As a resident, it's my job to make mistakes and learn from them. The second part of the job is to make less and less mistakes. If I wasn't making any, residency would be more or less a year long to confirm my competency, instead of a multi year (6 for me) learning process.

I’m almost done with PGY-1 ✅

And I have some advice imho…
1. Try to have a good attitude…it helps with team dynamics, early days/late nights, challenging patients. Always try to have a good attitude.

Tip for Incoming Surgery Residents:

As early as you are in the OR, start making a 'recipe' for every surgery you do.

This helps you be prepared each time you go in to the OR.

Calling a consult can be challenging, especially in the beginning of your intern year. You may get nervous. Follow these steps for a smoother experience.

Today, the US FDA approved Narcan (naloxone) nasal spray for over-the-counter, nonprescription, use — the first naloxone product approved for use without prescription.

This is huge. Naloxone saves lives.
