After #Petersberg2024 , we stand firm in our call for new NDCs committing to deep emissions cuts in line with #ParisAgreement & increased financing for tackling #ClimateChange , esp. for LDCs. 2023 was the hottest year on record. The new #ClimateFinance goal must meet this moment.

The first #LDC Group strategy meeting from 26 - 27 March 2024 concludes with a series of fruitful priorities highlighted. Members are ready to head to #SB60 in Bonn and advocate for strong outcomes laying the ground for a successful #COP29 .

The 22nd Informal Meeting on Further Actions against Climate Change has concluded. Together with the Co-Chair of Brazil, Japan facilitated discussions among respective countries toward the success of #COP29 , and contributed to fostering a common understanding among participants.

At Global Environment Facility (GEF) council today, I welcomed support pledged at COP28 to LDCF and SCCF, but stressed that the needs of LDCs are much greater. These funds are critical life ropes for our vuln. communities and countries in helping us prepare for & manage the worst impacts of climate change

LDC Group solidarity COP28 UAE was rock solid and we have been a 💪 voice for the most vulnerable. We will continue to leverage this unity in vibrant delivery on #UAEConsensus with specific ref to means of implementation and effective adaptation.
