We will be publishing our Equity and Equality Action Plan for the North East and North Cumbria very soon!

We have listened to feedback from our colleagues and partners at a challenging time for our maternity workforce, and the top priority for maternity and neonatal services must continue to be ensuring that the right workforce is in place to serve women and babies across England.

Today we have informed all our trusts, regions, and local maternity and neonatal systems they are not expected to deliver against a target level of Midwifery Continuity of Carer - this will remain in place until maternity services in England have sufficient staffing levels.
