Homosexual behaviour in animals is extremely common. Thinking that teaching reality about people to children will make them all go gay and humans go extinct is not normal.

Being gay is far more ‘normal’ than wearing a stupid hat indoors, which is considered very rude.

5 yrs ago today was a shooting at my kid's college. For 15 excruciating minutes, I couldn't reach her, but I finally did. Others weren't so lucky.
This selfless young man Riley gave his life to stop the shooter and save his classmates.
I'll never stop honoring his memory.

One of the great take outs from Beastly...animals can save us (& the planet we share with them), but now we need to save them! And we need to be so much more urgent in this quest.

Absolute inanity. It's insulting to young people to assume they can't cope with 'the old rules'. There seem to be plenty in the audience at the snooker who aren't filming it on their phones!

Bill Nighy standing outside my flat being still to listen to the spring birds on May Day morning is exactly what you’d want Bill Nighy to be doing right?

Have been away a month, crossed the Tropic of Capricorn twice, swam with dolphins, been on Ipanema beach at dawn, explored a city built in 3 years, and worked hard.
And yet when I get back to Edinburgh, I'm in love again

Aidan Tulloch’s FT Weekend article about the UK’s only call centre for Lift Alarm calls is a delight, not least because he quickly discovers that not much happens there. As a result, you get to experience a writer working at their absolute best, finding poetry in the banal.
