A fast changing world presents unique opportunities in areas like digital trade and energy. I met Minister for Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty Bruno Le Maire today to discuss ways for 🇸🇬 and 🇫🇷 to seize key opportunities and enhance our relationship.

🇸🇬 & 🇫🇷 have agreed to elevate our relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership - the result of my dinner with President Emmanuel Macron last night. We also had an insightful discussion on how to deepen bilateral cooperation, and on regional and international developments.

Fruitful meeting with Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner. As like-minded partners, 🇸🇬 and 🇩🇪 work closely together at multilateral fora, including the G20. We also discussed how to advance finance cooperation, and how to facilitate investment in each other’s economies.

Glad to have called on Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz today, where we exchanged views on regional and international issues. Happy that both sides agreed to work towards upgrading relations to a Strategic Partnership. I look forward to seeing Chancellor Scholz again soon.

Was glad to have caught up with Federal Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck over lunch today. We had a fruitful discussion on advancing economic collaboration, including avenues to boost ASEAN-EU cooperation in trade and the digital economy.

Glad to call on Federal President Dr Steinmeier again. We had a candid exchange of views on how Singapore🇸🇬 and Germany🇩🇪 could navigate an increasingly complicated world, as like-minded countries that share a common worldview on multilateralism and a rules-based world order.

ADB and Singapore share a strong partnership, especially in enhancing climate resilience. Happy to meet ADB President Asakawa Masatsugu today to discuss ways to further our collaborations for a low-carbon, sustainable future.

Glad to meet Malaysia Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan. We reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations and discussed how we can deepen collaboration in areas such as energy and the upcoming Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Lao PDR relations. Happy to meet Lao Finance Minister Santiphab Phomvihane today. We discussed how we could continue to strengthen economic ties and deepen collaboration, including in emerging areas like renewable energy.

Met Communist Party of China International Department Minister Liu Jianchao. Minister Liu & I expressed confidence that our countries will continue to build on the positive momentum of our bilateral collaboration, which will reap benefits for our peoples as well as the region.

I had an insightful meeting today with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar. We spoke about expanding cooperation in areas such as digitalisation and supply chain resilience. We also discussed recent regional developments and the complexities of the global landscape.
