The govt's decision to reinstate basic pay for healthcare workers with Long Covid is only a 3 month stay of execution.

We now need to see a proper, fair occupational injury scheme devised that will provide these healthcare workers with financial security.

The temporary reprieve is welcome but it also extends a very distressing limbo for these workers who are already suffering daily their health.

A long-term settlement is needed.

I hope you find this as shocking as I do. This is the current National Security Minister, a prominent member of the Israeli government leading a mob to beat up Palestinians. All ongoing but with added bullets and bombs.

I cannot stress enough how necessary it is for all of us to wake up every morning & believe and insist that we can and must live in a world where children aren't drone-striked at a playground. Israel is counting on your fatigue and hopelessness.

Unlike Iran's attack on Israel, which killed no-one, there won't be wall to wall outrage over the Israeli killing of 11 Palestinian kids, as there's been a lack of outrage over over 14,000 kids being slaughtered.

Why?

Because Palestinian life is considered worthless.

I'm sad to hear that Cllr Gerard Murphy has died. Gerard always struck me as a person of depth & principle, and independence of mind, with a very kind disposition towards all his colleagues.

He will be very much missed in Cork County Council & in North Cork.

Anyone who has endured the maddening labyrinth of Eir's customer service line when trying to retrieve money owed to them will not be surprised by this court verdict.

Motion sent to Bernard Gloster by Cork County Council in Oct 2023 asking that he consider his duty-of-care towards healthcare workers with severe Long Covid & meet with a representative group.

His office told me in March they had not received it.

The request is all the more critical now.

These kids almost died today drowning as they were trying to catch some food from the airdrops that fell into the sea.

Update on L36040 - Leamlara to Glanmire Road - the Council called out again to inspect the sink-hole today and have decided to close the road, except for local access.

Two sinkholes have also appeared between Saleen to Whitewell Cross & will be addressed.
