Ludicrous energy prices, chemical shortages, difficulty recruiting staff and now, potentially, not being able to refill their pools. For our members with pools this has been a truly horrible year!

One of the advantages of us being more environmentally friendly is that we suffer less from the current fluctuations in cost of & availability of chlorine ..we aim for an improved environmental footprint to afford sustainable processes. Our new UV system rocks 😀

OMG… how shallow is the water under that slide with a massive drop?! Pleased to say these days you can find fully HSE compliant slides at pools such as Chipping Norton Lido, Stoney Openair Pool, Hayle and Sandford Parks Lido

Covernt Garden 1956. This is the old rooftop swimming pool at the Oasis Leisure Centre, Endell Street, High Holborn. Only the constant traffic noise and dark, overbearing buildings could shatter the illusion of basking in the Mediterranean 😉

This is what Tynemouth Pool are working with - nothing less than a wanton act of vandalism when it was filled in and closed down. But I have every faith they’ll get there. A renewed lido will be such a boost to the area.

One of the highlights of summer when I was a kid was Grandma taking us to Longsands and treating us to a go on the shuggy-boats.

It’ll be back, better than ever, one day thanks to the tireless efforts of Tynemouth Pool
