1st of November! Good morning folks, it’s looking fair here at the moment but very strong winds are due during the morning. I hope you enjoy a wonderful day. 😊

I continue to be bowled over by the warm generosity I’m receiving on this journey. I’ve just been to Arran Active where AndyW gave me a really big discount on a new sleeping bag & camping mat. Terra Nova Equipment have incredibly sponsored me a new tent! I’m so grateful. 😊

I don’t normally go into posting food photos but I had to with this breakfast! I won’t need to eat for a few days after. Little Rock café in Brodick. Oh, by the way, I went for wellies. 😊

Now here’s a question for the fashionistas amongst you. For my day out in Brodick, crocs or wellies? All I have. (They’re very smart Nokian wellies). I’m wearing my very crumpled going out trousers. 😂

No change to my view today. The wind is far too strong for paddling safely again. I’m heading into Brodick to possibly buy a new tent! I hope you enjoy a lovely beginning to the week folks. 😊

I love this version of this song. I’m listening to it a lot at the moment. I wonder why? open.spotify.com/track/3AsAo0c8…

6pm and I’m tucked up in my bed already! One of the delights of camping in the winter. Long nights of uninterrupted sleep. 😴😂

I was away from my tent for a while and returned to find these gifts left for me by somebody. If you follow me on Twitter - thank you. How wonderfully kind. 😊

It’s looking challenging for a circumnavigation of Arran. I’m in no hurry, so it’ll be a case of paddling when I’m able.

I’m camping in a sheltered spot, so it’s tempting to think of putting to sea. However, looking further out, there are large white capped waves sweeping up the sound. Looking at the forecast, Tuesday seems a possibility for paddling onwards.

The most amazing thing has happened. I was hunkered in my tent when a woman calls “hello”. I’m invited across the road for dinner. Cannelloni no less. They did not know my story, just that I must’ve looked damp & cold when I arrived. The human capacity for kindness is wonderful.

Wherever I pitch my tent, I make my home. Here on a patch of grass by the Lochranza ferry port. I have a feeling I might be here a wee while. The forecast is dreadful. 😊

This is the first time I’ve paddled into Lochranza. It’s a place I’ve always wanted to arrive at by kayak, mainly because of the castle & also the incredible mountain backdrop.

Today I made the crossing from the Isle of Bute to the Isle of Arran. I managed to beat the forecast strong winds & arrived in Lochranza at the same time as the gale. It was a lovely day, with bouncy & sloshy seas. I’m happy to be here. A windy few days ahead! 😊
