Sam from our Communications team returned for his second visit to Snipe Dales to see how work on the site can change on a monthly basis. This time included a close look at how the volunteers help out on a site like Snipe Dales: lincstrust.org.uk/blog/sam-dawso…

The tidal creeks at Gibraltar Point mean the shorebird nesting sites can be particularly vulnerable to flooding. This year our wardens tried a pioneering technique to keep oystercatchers safe from the high water levels.

One of our fantastic volunteers at the Willow Tree Fen viewpoint, Ian Gordon, captured these lovely pictures of a crane family flying over the reserve. The juvenile with the paler head and plumage is one of this year's chicks, now almost as big as the parent birds.

This past week has been wild for birds at Gibraltar Point, with thousands upon thousands coming to roost on our beach 🏖️ it even brought in a Sanderling from Orkney 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 & a Ringed plover from Ireland 🇮🇪 (with a few origins yet to be determined) & a suprise Osprey from today 🦅

Protected sites like National Parks & AONBs should be the very best places for nature, but many of them are in poor condition🥀

This hungry visitor was caught on garden trail-cam on a very wet night last week by Louth Area Group member Jane Woodcock🦔🌧️

Do you have a camera set up in your garden? What wildlife have you discovered when you've played it back?
