Generating AI images is not - and should never be - considered an alternative to the talented work of a proper artist. However asking it to produce images of East Coast Mainline trains as cartoon characters this morning was a fun distraction.

I was up far too late last night trying to do this… currently at 60.7% with no cheating!

I see East Midlands Railway (EMR)’s InterCity trains are still worn out. New ones on order but seats have been like this for years. Today’s Meridian “delight” rattles as speed increases and my window is permanently misted… (for rail people, this is seat A30 on set 222005, working 1D08)

Factually correct but lacks context:

1. 230s are still running with another TOC
2. We had 150s on this line before, so LNR is refreshing skills/filling gaps rather than retraining?

Regardless, it will be good to see passenger trains on this line again…

Working in Nottingham today/tomorrow. Travelled up by train. Realised there are trams on a bridge over the station. One stop to the city centre. 150m walk to the office where I’m working. This is how public transport should work!
