GMC “When regulation begins…can be held accountable if serious concerns r raised“ 44 PAs LTHT ordered ☢️ illegally 5 PAsAierdale prescribed illegally Saunders pretended to be Dr to lead arrests Watkins academic misconduct Are these serious concerns? Will u hold them accountable?

ExplosiveEnema FHJ “Taught prescribing same level as medical students” NOT-med students have studied pharmacology “I will be safe to prescribe GP basics” The fact u think there is “GP basics” itself is a reason why you should not be seeing undifferentiated patients in GP,let alone be prescribing😱

Could I clarify one specific point please GMC? What do PAs and AAs practise? Given that they don’t study medicine. What exactly is it that they practise?

Joanne McGinn (@jo_mcginn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Jen Johnston GMC Wizardry. It’s the only believable thing. Folk who predominantly fail to get into medicine, don’t have the academic (or ethical) ability, who do a 2 year practically 100% pass course & are magically almost as good as consultants? Can move where the wind takes them, overnight? 🪄

1/This FHJ article doesn’t stand up to the smallest amount of scrutiny. I’d love to try my hand at Neurosurgery but just bc I feel that way doesn’t make it safe or wise for me to do so. My ‘feelings’ on the matter are totally irrelevant! #PAScandal #WilfulNegligence

3/& maybe Department of Health and Social Care & NHS England would like to consider the “well recognised fact that opportunities for professional growth is critically associated w/ job satisfaction & retention…” when looking at current employment & career progression in resident (jnr) Drs. For the public watching this unfold, we (doctors) have to pay the GMC hundreds of £ per year to be able to practise. They are however not accountable to us in any way, and are (meant to be) independent from government. We also can't legally withhold fees.

Dr Rachel Clarke GMC Given the regulatory failures that have just been catalogued by the Grenfell inquiry, the failure of GMC to acknowledge the risks of PAs is extraordinary and utterly cloth-eared
