My spark bird is this bird: Black-crowned Night Heron. It's a species NYC has in abundance&every time I see one I will make it a point to stop, quietly observe&say thank you. This one scored a huge breakfast at The Lake in Central Park moments ago - good job! 😃

Good morning! Soooo happy Baltimore Orioles have arrived. I love hearing their calls & what's so wonderful is they nest in Central Park so we get to enjoy them all Spring&Summer. This male is so stunning. 😭❤️

Signs of Spring are: 1)Beautiful blooms 2)Trees leafing out as the canopy buzzes with the arrival of migrants, and 3)American Robins beating the crap out of each other&other species of birds everywhere you go. Look at this guy, he's ready for battle! 😂

Beautiful Northern Parula from this morning. This bird is the call I listen for when I first enter Central Park. Why? Bc we get them in abundance & I know if I hear a lot of them calling in the trees we got a good arrival of migrants. See link:

It's super warm here in NYC this afternoon & this Chestnut-sided Warbler has the right idea cooling off. Ermagod, he's sooooo cute! His face looks like he's been crying with mascara streaking down his cheeks. 😆

Incredible morning! I had a couple Cape May Warblers drop very low&close in Central Park! Yay!!! This one was being unusually cooperative. Gotta love a bird that has gorgeous rouge on the cheeks!😃🩷

The blooms are quickly fading as Central Park is turning lush & green. Soon, the pink blossoms will be gone making it harder to see birds like this gorgeous male Baltimore Oriole. Happy Spring!😍
