The Bank of England raised interest rates today. At the same time they said that inflation will be 2% by early 2025, which is 18 months away. It takes 18 months for an interest rate rise to have any impact on inflation. So, what are they going to do to prevent deflation in 2025?

The Bank of England’s inflation target is 2% but no one knows why. There is no evidence to justify that figure. 3% or 4% might work just as well. What that means is that the economy is being wrecked to achieve a meaningless goal. Why, oh why?

The Bank of England has increased rates, again, by 0.25% to 5.25%. They really do want to have a recession. It’s obvious that nothing else will keep them happy.
