"Tonnes of raw sewage flowing into Lake Windermere." MattStaniek nails it. 👏👏👏 Yes United Utilities have discovered it rains in the Lake District. Now about that £9,500,000,000 you've paid to shareholders? itv.com/watch/news/ton…

This is the CEO of United Utilities Louise Beardmore. Total pay £1.41M made up of 48.9% salary and 51.1% bonuses, including company stock and options. Also worth noting, United Utilities have continuously dumped raw sewage into Lake Windermere for SEVEN DAYS. #BBCBreakfast #GMB

"Steve Coogan has accused United Utilities of “greenwashing” and “PR spin” as he criticised the company for putting sewage into Lake Windermere." And he'd be right. Well said Mr Coogan, well said. uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/steve-coo…

This is such a stupid comment from the CEO of Thames Water 💧 It seems that those running the water companies have no idea at the depth of fury many feel.

I swear, truly, you really can't make this stuff up anymore. First it was the Victorians, or was it the Romans, then the wrong kind of rain, now WCs are arguing that even if they had spent all of the £78,000,000,000 they're paid to shareholders on improvements it wouldn't have

Week 44 of the Strike Against Sewage Once again, Windermere has made national news due to United Utilities’ dumping sewage into a national treasure. This raises the question: What exactly is Labour doing about this, beyond just placing a temporary fix over a much bigger issue?

How can we be sure water companies are reducing sewage dumping if we don’t know how much sewage they are dumping? theconversation.com/to-clean-up-en…

The actions Labour need to take are simple; they need to get on with their job and enforce the law. This is just window dressing and is not good enough. This is a national scandal, yet they are ignoring the utter failings of the privatised water industry, they are allowing the

Prof.@Ewan_MG estimates that continued privatisation will cost over £11 BILLION in dividends over this Parliament alone. @HMTreasury has confirmed nationalising Thames Water would cost nothing AND reduce costs to bill payers. Inaction costs us more everyday.

Water companies must be really worried after today’s announcement. Wrong. UU shares are up 2.62% following Labours plans. Pollution remains profitable.

It will cost £12.5 billion in the next Parliament to keep water companies under control of private shareholders. We need workers and bill-payers to elect directors on boards, and stop paying polluters of our water. With Nick Ferrari on the new Water Special Measures Bill.👇
