We thought Kino was engaged in nice, wholesome doggy activities at ⁦Camp Bow Wow Dobson Ranch⁩, like playing with other pups or chasing a ball. But we found out he was drinking doggy margaritas and dressing up in silly costumes. What a decadent dog we have.

In Standard English, 'Wednesday' is pronounced without a d.

The d is there because it was pronounced in Middle English.

'Wednesday' comes from a Germanic name meaning 'Odin's day'.

D-less forms such as 'Wennesdai' are attested from the 14th c.

Listen to how this word evolved:

Kino and I hiked out near the Salt River this morning. We started at the dirt lot along the drive into Coon Bluff, which was full of horses and horse trailers. Kino gave the horses wide berth.

Shafik offers no vision of what a university is, or what one should be. She talks about her time at the IMF and says Columbia 'can be an exemplar for a better world' and she wants 'to rebuild community.' She sounds like a banker reciting a corporate PR statement.

Chris Dunn is a fraud. He faked data to sell his book and he remains a fraud because he continues to sell this lie. When is Joe Rogan going to learn his lesson & give the other side to so many lost technology podcasts over the years?

These small ceramic balls from Aztec provincial sites were likely blow-gun pellets. I had a student at Loyola years ago who tested this hypothesis. He replicated the objects, and used pvc pipe of varying length and diameter. They worked well! Of course it is not definitive proof.

What did you do this morning at ⁦Camp Bow Wow Dobson Ranch⁩ ?
Kino: I played in the doggie pools.
What do you want to do this afternoon?
Kino: jump in the pool to retrieve the tennis ball.

It's annoying seeing obviously AI prompted images used on history articles. Yeah the Aztecs had feathers in their outfits but they obviously didn't have centurion helmets.

editing/writing query. Is there a term for making vague references to what 'we' believe or think, or 'our' ideas about something, without identifying who the author is talking about (or providing citations)? I find this very annoying, and need to describe it better in a review.
