I mean, there were things to like about how Dallas played in that second period... sharper with the puck, creating far more chances than Edmonton did, and keeping the Oilers off the board so the lead didn't grow.

But they still have nothing to show for it.

It feels like Dallas is building something... but Skinner keeps stonewalling them.

He was supposed to be the weak link... he's silenced that discussion in a big way.

I'll give Dallas this - their start to the 2nd period has felt better and more aggressive. But credit where due - Stuart Skinner is really playing well.

Maybe DeBoer goes reverse psychology right now... just walks into the dressing room and says 'welp, heck of a run fellas. See ya in September.'
