I dare you to follow a disabled person through the PIP application, assessment, mandatory reconsideration when refused and then the appeal process and still say that the system is easily exploited.

As a carer for my disabled son my income is much less than a pensioner yet they get more discounts. I get a few hours free, son has hot meal at day centre. Local 2 course hot meal in pub for oaps £6.50. Not for carers though.

Governments seem to think we stop caring when our loved ones are in the hospital. I wish that was so, but atm I'm totally knackered from all the added running around and worry and stress.

Heres my tuppence on benefit vouchers. In the article i read its suggested therapy, respite and social care package vouchers.
Therapy: unless its private good luck with that
Care packages: with the huge shortage of carers good luck with that.
Respite: well thats non existent.

We finally have a course of action for my stepdad. They're going to repair the hole in his heart and fit an ICD. Still no idea whether it'll be done in Cardiff or Bristol though.
