In 1904, Frank Hering, an alumnus & administrator, observed students sending postcards to their mothers. Inspired, he advocated for the creation of Mother's Day, which became a national holiday in 1914. 🌷

John Crowley '92 J.D. has dedicated his life to finding a cure for the rare disease that afflicts his two children.

His daughter, Megan '19, graduated from Notre Dame 20 years after she was told she had six months to live.
