I think that’s a product of the parents and adults too though. Forcing these kids to live out the dreams of the parents when the kid really just wants to go kick it with their friends. It’s a different generation of parent. Force feeding their kids this. Our parents were like 🤷‍♂️

Every Sunday in the Fall, we’d convince the janitor to let us in the gym from 10AM-12PM.

We’d invite kids from all over the county to play open gym and we’d get about 40-50 players in there every week ON OUR OWN.

Do kids even take the initiative to do things like this anymore?

Quite frankly, kids just don’t love basketball the same way we used to. It’s a COMPLETELY different experience for them than it was for us but the fact remains the same.

They don’t watch games on TV, they rarely go watch games live, and they don’t play without officials.
