When NYPD Transit were alerted of a man menacing a straphanger with two knives, they acted quickly in isolating the individual and arresting him. Every day your officers continue to be on the front lines & are committed to keeping our subway system safe.
On October 18, a female was inappropriately touched at the South Street train station in Manhattan. The suspect fled but was caught by eagle-eyed NYPD Transit officers who recognized him from the wanted flyer a few days later.
Just after midnight, officers from NYPD Transit observed a male drinking alcohol on an “L” train. After stopping him, the officers discovered he was wanted for a previous crime and placed him under arrest, then searched him and found this loaded firearm.
On Sunday, NYPD Transit officers observed a suspect jump the turnstile. While investigating, they discovered the 46-year-old male was wanted for a slashing that occurred in transit earlier this month.
Yesterday, a 29-year-old male sexually assaulted a 19-year-old female inside the Hoyt St '2/3' subway station in Brooklyn. Officers from NYPD Transit District 30 quickly responded, canvassed for the suspect, and made an apprehension, marking his third arrest this month.
