It's now over five years since the Tories promised to scrap Section 21 no-fault evictions.

Private tenants will wait for years more if the government waters down its Renters Reform Bill today.

Labour will end Section 21 evictions immediately - no ifs, no buts.

Since the Tories promised to ban no-fault evictions, 85,000 households have faced the risk of homelessness as a result of one.

Five years on, the ban has been delayed indefinitely.

In unrelated news, 1 in 5 Tory MPs, including at least seven cabinet ministers, are landlords.

1 in 3 disabled renters are forced to live in unsuitable homes.

Despite the availability of government funding, landlords often decline requests to make homes accessible.

I tabled an amendment to the Renters Reform Bill to stop landlords unreasonably refusing home adaptations.

Politicians say they’ll do whatever it takes to stop the boats & the drownings.

But the one thing they won’t do is give people safe alternative ways to travel.
So we’ll always be waiting for the next tragedy.
