I may never make it to the Court of Appeal bench, but I have at least made it as far as the Christine French Room at James Hargest High School. Thanks to all the high school students that turned up to hear about what studying at Law at Otago is all about. 🤓🤓🤓
Delighted to see this published today by Elgar Law. Really loved working with Margaret Briggs Law at Otago and all the contributors on this collection exploring Family Property and the Law from a range of different perspectives: Durham Law School e-elgar.com/shop/gbp/resea…
Its presentation day at PublicLaw Conference. Come along at 9.15 if you want to hear from me on why Chevron was wrong and Loper Bright is right.
This went fast - my 3rd (& final 😢) De Carle Lecture Law at Otago is tomorrow - covering honesty, executive empowerment and *that* prorogation. A detour into covid means I'll get the chance to introduce my NZ audience to "Eat Out to Help Out". I wonder if they'll even believe me?
If the idea of NZ private law sounds exciting, then please submit an abstract for the Symposium me and Edward Willis are organising on Monday 10 February 2025 Law at Otago. See the attached Call for Papers for more info.
For those of you who haven’t heard, I do private law now! Law at Otago is hosting a symposium on private law early next year. See the call for papers below and do reach out if you would like to be involved!
Happy to announce that my article '‘The King[’s] Courts as the fountain of justice’ and the supremacy of ordinary law: implications for English arbitration' has been published open access in Arbitration International academic.oup.com/arbitration/ad… Law at Otago
