Had a wonderful few days in Dublin last week, where I was chuffed to receive the Richard Hart Prize for best paper by an early career scholar. The paper is titled 'Creativity and Climate Rights in Common Law Jurisdictions'. Here I am looking like a dork at Dublin Castle.

We were privileged to have the Chief Justice of New Zealand, Dame Helen Winkelmann, & Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, Dame Siobhan Keegan, address the 2022 PublicLaw Conference on the theme of making & re-making public law #publiclawconf

Justice Brian Murray of the Irish Supreme Court gives an engaging address on private and public wrongs, discussing the idea that damages ought to be given for the violation of a basic right in and of itself, a tradition going back to ancient authorities such as Ashby v White
