Guns are still the #1 cause of death for American children. So we wrote about it - again. This time we got 140 pediatric colleagues to co-sign the message:

We wrote a thing. And a boatload of people at work signed it because they agree. We are all sick of kids getting shot!

“It is not like this in other countries. One of our colleagues, a pediatric emergency physician in Canada, told us, “Over my 20 years in the emergency department, I have seen exactly one child shot with a gun.” We see one child shot with a gun, on average, every three days.”

Police are in the Pediatric ED every day. This can present challenges for medical providers & distress patients, especially those from communities that have been systematically oppressed by police. Arthur Derse and I write about this issue in Ped Emerg Care:

Here’s the Chest X-Ray of a young boy with a condition that is now the leading cause of death in children and adolescents in the U.S.

What’s the diagnosis?

Beautiful fall Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee... and 2 children were shot in a span of 2 hours.

Ron Johnson Are you ready to pass common sense gun control yet? Or are you still too busy trying to overturn the last election with fake electors?

Journal Sentinel Editorial: After 12 years, it's time to term-limit Sen. Ron Johnson. “We cannot elect people to office who do not honor the results of elections and still expect to hold onto our democratic republic. It's that simple.” jsonline.com/story/opinion/…

I was in a pt room, asking about medical history. 17yo tells me he was shot 3 times last year. As he's talking about his resulting nerve pain & PTSD, I get a page: Level 1 trauma, 3yo shot in the head.

Tell me, Ron Johnson: do I work at a children's hospital or in a war zone?
