My (Dr Lucy Pocock) PhD focuses on the communication of poor prognosis between secondary and primary care. I am just finalising the results of a systematic review (protocol here: bmjopen.bmj.com/content/11/12/…) and am preparing to conduct an ethnography in secondary care.

Continuing my (Dr Lucy Pocock) PELiCam takeover, let's talk about primary palliative care... Did you know that most people in the UK die at home or in a care home? GPs provide much of this care, along with Community Nurses.

No tweeting from me (Dr Lucy Pocock) yesterday due to a busy clinical day. A significant part of my role as a GP is offering patients and their loved ones the opportunity to plan for their future care. We call this Advance Care Planning (ACP).

Happy Monday again everyone, Dr Lucy Pocock still here. Today I am making the journey from Bristol to Cambridge to visit the PELiCam research group and to present some of my work. In case you're wondering what was in the thermos, it's leftover butternut squash risotto!

And we're off. Delighted to be joined by @annaebone presenting her programme of work on palliative care for older people. Huge increase in palliative care need and an older patient population projected, with significant shift to care home settings. #peolcsw Bristol Palliative and End of Life Care Research
