Much enjoyed giving a recital with the wonderful Lynn Arnold at the Open University. There's nothing like playing lovely music to a lovely and appreciative audience.

Hugely enjoyed spending the weekend adjudicating in Taunton - it was both inspiring and reassuring to see and hear the exceptional commitment, determination and musicianship of the young musicians we heard.

A totally delightful experience today giving a recital with the wonderful Flora in Cambridge. Playing lovely music to lovely people in a lovely place... Utopia really...

I love the new style labels we come up with these days...
'Clarinet player' simply won't do... How about:

Much enjoyed Tillett Trust auditions today at the lovely Peacock Room at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Greenwich. Do the surroundings make a difference to how you feel when playing music...?

NYWO rides again!!! Brilliant first time we’ve met for quite a while - all at the RAM yesterday. A great mixture of some regulars and new recruits on the staff and very encouraging to have a wonderful group of young players on board!

Much enjoyed spending the day with the Lincolnshire Music Service. A very positive buzz and even alluded to William Byrd, one of Lincoln's great musical alumni

Much enjoyed taking part in a lovely concert for youngsters yesterday – the brainchild of the excellent Jody Sapsard. Animals make for such effective concert material!

Much enjoyed my day at the London EXPO yesterday and did a presentation on the new book. There was a real buzz and, even in the troubled world in which we certainly now live, a concerted sense that culture will, somehow, prevail...
